the witch’s house

every year we peek deep within the branches, gazing up from the floor underneath to find the witch’s house and within it the magic that it spreads to the tree. it is hidden from plain view. only a discerning eye and quiet study time will reveal its placement. it is a game his family plays, and now because i am one of them, i do it too, calling out, "i found it!", hopefully before the rest of them.
